You Have a Story in a Letter

TREASURES, TREASURES,

RIGHT AT MY FINGERTIPS

In my attempt to organize my filing system that is spread all over my bedroom floor, I have realized a few things.

Not only am I organizing my piles and boxes and file cabinets and bags of papers and pictures and memorabelia, I am trying to organize my life!

As the keeper of my family's archives, I have been unwittingly given this responsibility that, until recently, I have not fully appreciated.

Some of the treasures I have found are in the form of letters.  Letters decades old, generations old, family history, letters that tell the paths my relatives took that have led, inadvertantly, to me.

Please email scanned versions of letters or postcards you would like to share to kate@youhaveastory.us.

My dad sent me this postcard from Mexico in the early '60s.  I always liked getting mail that ended "Love, Daddy."
